Korda Spare Chod Krimps

The ability to quickly change (QC) each rig is a huge time saver and we have been doing this for years with standard rigs. However, due to the short length of stiff material used to construct a Chod Rig, until shrinkage occurred it was always a very tricky and frustrating knot to tie; especially on very short chods. Crimping our Mouth Trap Chod filament has become an increasingly popular way to create a QC Chod using our standard 0.6mm crimps normally associated with our popular Boom material when creating Spinner Rigs.

The size of these standard crimps was not ideal, but it served its purpose so far. The Korda Product Development Team has now created a crimp specifically for easily building neat and tidy Chod Rigs. The new crimps are 40% smaller than the standard version and can be used with 15lb, 20lb and 25lb versions of our Mouth Trap Chod Filament, creating a QC loop that is stronger than any knot before; this is especially vital on such a short hooklength, where the pressure on the knot is greatest.

These small crimps can be used with the current Crimp Tools in the range. Crimping is a great way to make neat, strong connections, especially if you are using stiffer and/or thicker materials that can be difficult to knot effectively. Plus you can get the hooklength just right every time, which is especially useful for Chod rigs.

You need to make sure you use the correct size crimp for your mouth trap. If the shrinkage is too great, it may slip. They come in a neat little box with a sliding lid, which helps prevent spills, with 50 Krimps in each pack.
