Center Tail Feathers from the Pheasant are a classic and highly versatile tying material. They can be used for tails and bodies on nymphs, dries and wet flies. The most popular fly tied with these feathers is the "Pheasant Tail Nymph", originally tied by Frank Sawyer. A full center tail is bleached to a light buff then dyed. This process produces very bright coloured center tails with out losing the hooks off the fibres which knit the tails together.
