Shimano FX Reel (FC)

The FX is an all-rounder when it comes to spinning, the reel which replaces the previous FX, AX and HYPERLOOP reels. It’s an ideal choice for the novice angler or a cost-conscious intermediate that still wants to fish with a reliable reel. The cheaper, beginners reel market is packed full with unreliable, weak reels. There are many poor quality spinning reels on the market that promise high specs despite being cheaper in price, for example, offering 10 ball bearings, when realistically they’re nothing special, hence the price. However, when you hear the name Shimano, you know the brand is synonymous with quality, reliable reels, Shimano are known for; strong and smooth Shimano gearing, aluminium spool and a strong XT-7 body, plenty of bang for your buck.
